Kenny and TLS Motorworks absolutely saved my life. I highly recommend him and let me share why. In July 2020, the engine light came on in my Sonata Hybrid. I had just ran out of warranty, so I was worried about an expensive repair bill. I stopped by Auto Zone for a diagnostic, who gave me an incorrect diagnosis. They recommended that I ordered a thermostat, promising they carried the size for my car, and after 3 days when it should have been shipped in only one day , I received it. I drove down to my mechanic, who saw that it was not compatible with my car and that I actually had a busted heater control valve. So I left to go to Jim Ellis Hyundai Dealership and my car ran hot and rattled on the way there. I had my car towed to the dealership and told them about my experience with Auto Zone and my mechanic. They told me that it would take 2 days for them to complete the diagnostic. I called them back after 3 days, and it actually took 4 days... after I called them for an update. They completely tried to take advantage of the situation. Jim Ellis Hyundai lied to me, saying that my engine was destroyed and that I needed to get a whole new car....without even performing a diagnostic! And they still charged me! I couldn't get a call from management regarding my experience until I gave them a bad review when they asked me how my service was. I had my car towed home. Across the street from the dealership is a hybrid repair shop, ToyoTechs. I called the store and an employee informed me that they had just began to only repair Toyota and Lexus hybrids , but referred me to my knight in shining armor, Kenny. He vouched that Kenny had many years of experience in repairing hybrids and that he had repaired 3 Sonata Hybrids within the past 2 weeks. I called Kenny and he answered promptly. I learned that he had been the General Manager at Toyotechs for the past 25 years, and now he opened his own shop, TLS Motorworks. He gave me a complimentary diagnostic , as I was one of his first customers. Kenny informed me that I did not have a destroyed engine, but a blown head gasket . I received a highly professional and affordable price quote, and he worked with me because I did not have the entire amount of repairs. He allowed me to keep my car in his shop with no storage fees for one month so that I could raise the money for the repairs !! Thankfully it only took me 3 weeks. Kenny was always available when I had questions . When I got my funds together, I approved the price quote for repairs that he emailed to me, which allowed him the go - ahead. Kenny repaired my car in 3 days! He noticed that I had a sensor out , but he only repaired it with my permission. Also, he only charged me for the part and not the additional labor to repair the sensor. He also changed my oil, gassed up my car, and added air to my tires during his test drive. By the time I got to pick up my car-baby, Sue, she was driving like a dream! Kenny not only did an impeccable job, but he gave me a tremendous warranty and saved me at least $25k by saving my car, instead of a trade in or a full engine repair like the dealership tried to make me get. I will stick to TLS Motorworks for all of my car repairs for as long as I have my wonderful hybrid. Once you go to Kenny at TLS Motorworks, you won't have to ever go anywhere else!!
